The château sits in rolling vineyards and ancient trees outside Castelnau-Montratier, a medieval town in the Lot. The estate is 75 acres of private landscaped grounds, so the setting is quiet — rural life, open countryside, no through traffic. Interiors mix classic French style with modern comfort, and all the bedrooms are en-suite.
A typical day starts at 8:00 with a dynamic Vinyasa Flow class, held in the open air when the weather allows. Breakfast follows at 9:00 — fresh, seasonal, cooked by the chef team. Lunch is at 13:30, a light meal from local ingredients, usually eaten outside on the terrace. The 17:00 session is Yin: longer-held postures, stretching, releasing tension. Dinner is at 19:30, an elegant relaxed meal eaten together. The schedule notes that timings may flow with the rhythm of the day.
The excursion day starts in Cahors — gothic architecture, cobbled streets, artisan shops and riverside views, with free time to wander and buy lunch wherever you like. In the afternoon the group goes into the countryside for a private visit to a local château winery: a guided tour of the estate and a private tasting of Cahors wine. Lunch is not included that day.
What separates this from a cheaper yoga week is the property and the food. You get unlimited use of the heated pool, hot tub, tennis court, cinema room, gardens and lounges, daily housekeeping, and all yoga equipment — mats, bolsters, blocks, straps, blankets and props — provided on site. Massage, facials and private yoga or Pilates tuition can be arranged on site at extra cost; prices are listed nearer the time and can be booked in advance by email.
