Home › Retreats › Girls Just Wanna Have Fun: Women's Yoga and Adventure Week in Roatán, Honduras
Honduras · 8 days · From USD 3499
The week starts on 16 January 2027. Check-in at Anthony's Key Resort opens at 3:00 pm, and the retreat officially begins at 5:00 pm, so you need to land at Roatán's Juan Manuel Gálvez International Airport (RTB) by 4:00 pm. Airport transfers are included and the resort is about 15 minutes from the airport. Check-out on 23 January is by 11:00 am, and if you have an early flight you check out at the front desk the day before.
Days follow a loose shape: two daily practices, usually a morning yoga class plus meditation or journaling, with the rest of the day free. Donna teaches Vinyasa, Restorative/Yin and meditation, and Sarah teaches a flowy, playful style; Sarah is also certified in mat Pilates and stand-up paddleboard. Journaling workshops are woven through the week, aimed at getting clear on what you want from the year ahead. Excursions are slotted in around the classes — the dolphin swim, the horseback ride along the shoreline, the catamaran cruise at golden hour, the boat trip to Maya Key for a picnic, and a beach day. Fiesta night and live music on Friday and Monday nights are part of the schedule.
What separates this from a standard yoga week is the excursion list and the setting. Anthony's Key Resort sits on its own key, with reef diving and snorkelling straight off the property, dolphin encounters on site, and kayaks and paddleboards free to use. The bungalows are reached by the resort's island taxi boat, which makes the accommodation feel removed from the main grounds.
Donna Mahoney founded Dragonfly Yoga Retreats and owns The Yoga Loft in Wisconsin. She is an E-RYT200, YACEP, Reiki Master and astrologer, with more than 2,000 registered teaching and retreat hours, and has been leading retreats since 2021. Sarah has taught yoga since 2001 and is RYT500 and YACEP, and founded Shine Vinyasa Yoga School. Both are on site for the whole week.
Roatán is the largest of Honduras's Bay Islands, ringed by the Mesoamerican Reef. Around the resort you can snorkel or dive the reef, walk barefoot under the palms, or take a taxi or hire a car to explore the island — most rental agencies are near the airport. The currency is the Honduran Lempira, though US dollars are widely accepted on the island and at the resort, and American Express, Visa and Mastercard are taken at the venue.
