Himalayan Wellness Escape: 4-Day Yoga, Breathwork & Meditation Retreat in Rishikesh

Rishikesh · 4 days · From USD 107

The retreat runs on a rhythm that hooks you into the yogic day: wake at six, pranayama by seven, yoga by half past, and breakfast at nine. The first afternoon doesn't waste time—after settling in, you'll walk to Ram Jhula and watch the Ganga Aarti, the evening fire ritual on the riverbank that's one of Rishikesh's defining experiences. That's the pattern for the whole stay: real practices, real outings, and a group of instructors who actually teach rather than just lead.

A core draw here is the teaching staff. Pranjal Ji is the lead instructor, an E-RYT 500 with a decade of teaching behind him and training from Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre in Kerala, Ashtanga Yoga Mysore under Sri Ramesh Shetty, and further study in Kundalini Yoga in Rishikesh itself. He teaches the yoga and breathwork sessions in a way that makes the philosophy (Patanjali's sutras, the Gita) understandable through stories and modern examples. He's joined by Shree Acharya Eknath Ji, who grew up in a temple family and holds an Acharya (Master) degree in Vedic Sanskrit—he leads the meditation and philosophy discussions with a deep grounding in Vedanta. Shubham Uniyal Ji, trained in classical Hatha Yoga with a post-graduation in Yogic Science, rounds out the team.

What makes it feel different from a standard studio retreat is the setting and the small touches. The center is a bit up a hill, surrounded by greenery, with waterfalls and streams nearby. The daily program includes a waterfall hike on the third day and a session of yoga by the Ganges. The meals are sattvic—deliberately less intense on spice and flavor as part of the cleansing principle—but guests consistently say they're delicious and filling. There's also a sound healing or Yog Nidra session included, and the option to book an Ayurvedic massage or spa package as an upgrade.

The center is SaptaShuddhi, whose name means 'seven levels of purification.' It's a small, authentic operation, and that's part of the appeal. You won't find resort-style luxury or a packed activities schedule; instead, there's a steady, simple daily practice with enough free time to actually feel the benefits of slowing down. The most frequent guest note is that it's great value for money, and that 'India time' applies to schedules—which is generally taken as a chance to practice patience.
