Himalayan Women's Trek & Yoga Wellness Retreat in India

India · 16 days · From USD 3800

The retreat begins in Rishikesh, the yoga capital of the world, where you’ll stay beside the sacred Ganges and attend the famous Ganga Aarti ceremony. From there, the journey moves into the forested foothills, with a restorative stay at a peaceful eco-lodge in Sursingdhar overlooking Tehri Lake. This is a place for yoga, rest and unhurried evenings together before the trekking begins. As you travel higher, the landscape shifts to traditional mountain villages, sacred temples like Surkanda Devi and Gangotri, and the dramatic alpine scenery of the upper Ganges valley. You’ll trek through Gangotri National Park, past the Suraj Kund waterfall, to the Gaumukh Glacier, the sacred source of the Ganges. For those choosing the higher route, there’s the possibility of reaching Tapovan, a high-altitude meadow with stunning views of Mount Shivling. The trekking is moderate, with most days covering 5–6 miles (about 10 km) at a steady pace, though there is one longer day of roughly 13 km.

The retreat is carefully planned with acclimatisation days built in, and the team includes a 500-hour certified yoga teacher and Himalayan trekker, Tammy Jones, who leads trek and kit preparation. The group is limited to a small circle of women, and there are preparation calls before the retreat, an online community to connect with fellow trekkers, and post-retreat integration sessions to help you embed the experience back home. This isn’t just a trek; it’s a journey designed to help you step away from the demands of everyday life, build strength and resilience, and reconnect with yourself in one of the most awe-inspiring places on Earth. You’ll be supported at every step, from the moment you book to long after you return, with the team walking alongside you throughout.
