Holystika Detox & Vitality Retreat with Fresh Spirulina in Northeast Brazil

Brazil · 8 days · From EUR 1111

Casa Bela Vida sits 4 km from Fortim in Ceará, roughly 110 km from Fortaleza international airport. The centre is surrounded by nature, close to the Jaguaribe River mangroves and the beaches around Pontal do Maceió, a small village with a lighthouse, local craft stalls and a steady wind that makes it one of Brazil's better flat-water kitesurfing spots. Water temperature sits between 26 and 30°C year-round, and at low tide a huge shallow lagoon opens up for beginners.

The week starts on the eve of the retreat, with arrival in the early evening so you begin the first full day already settled. Day one includes the personalised health and detox assessment that shapes everything that follows: what you eat, which treatments you receive, and how intense the cleanse is. You then pick your level — physiological diet, monodiet, juice diet, fasting or purge — and the kitchen adjusts accordingly. From there, the programme layers in fresh spirulina, grown on the property, both as a food and as the basis for therapeutic and beauty treatments.

Beyond detox, there's a genuine activity programme. Yoga runs across styles — therapeutic, dynamic, Ashtanga, Yin — and is open to all levels. There are guided meditations and breathing sessions, sungazing, aquagym, water massages, and meditative walks in the surrounding landscape. Workshop topics include raw food and 'crusine', aromatherapy, and natural and ancestral medicine. Excursions include a boat trip through the mangroves on the Jaguaribe River and a full-day dune buggy trip through white sand dunes to traditional fishing villages and the red and white canyons.

Kitesurfing and wingfoil are optional extras rather than included in the price. Lessons are run by Yoan Wilde, who has been kitesurfing for over 13 years, has taught for more than five in several countries, and holds IKO certification plus the French BPJEPS coaching qualification. The spot suits complete beginners and advanced riders alike.

What separates this from a standard wellness or juice-fast retreat is the spirulina. Adélaïde grows it on site and uses it fresh rather than as a dried supplement, and it appears throughout the week in meals, ceremonies and body treatments. She also gives every guest copies of her two books, 'Natural Dentistry for Everyone' and 'The 4 Pillars of Holistic Health'. The group is limited to eight participants, and the tone is deliberately warm and sociable — there are festive evenings in the village and a cacao and spirulina ceremony followed by ecstatic dance, so it's a detox week with music and laughter in it, not a quiet retreat.
