Home › Retreats › HYROX Camp in Champagne: 3-Day Performance Intensive Near Paris
France · 3 days
The camp runs across three days at a sports estate in Val de Livre, in the Champagne region. Day one starts at 14:00 with check-in at the gîte and a snack, then a two-hour HYROX technique session from 16:00 to 18:00 focused on the most technical stations — sled push and pull, burpee broad jumps, sandbag lunges and wall balls — with the goal of making each movement more efficient. At 18:00 there's a mobility and cardiac coherence session, then downtime until a shared dinner at 19:30.
Day two is the biggest training day. A 7:30 wake-up combines mobility work with a plank challenge, breakfast is at 8:00, and from 9:30 to 12:00 you do a long compromised running session — the format-specific work that separates people who finish HYROX well from people who blow up halfway. Lunch and rest run from 12:30 to 14:00, then at 14:30 there's a trail run on the estate's farm loop, mixing running with off-road terrain to work cardio and explosiveness. Strength workshops for upper and lower body run from 16:30 to 17:30, followed by stretching from 17:45. Dinner is at 19:30, and from 21:00 to 22:30 there's an open discussion on training, equipment and race strategy.
Day three starts at 7:30 with a mobility flow targeting hips and posterior chain, breakfast at 8:00, and the main event from 9:30 to 12:00: the Farm Hybrid Relay Clash, a team session combining endurance, strength and relay work that pulls together everything practised over the weekend. After lunch and kit prep from 12:30, there's a stretching and group feedback session at 14:30 where you go over how the weekend went and what to work on next. The camp closes at 16:00 with a sports outfit and a gym pair given to each participant, then transfers back to the station.
What makes this different from a general fitness weekend is the specificity. The sessions are built around the HYROX race format — compromised running, station efficiency, and the transitions between them — rather than generic conditioning. The 14-hectare estate has a dedicated HYROX room and a 250 m² dojo, so you're not improvising equipment in a hotel gym. And the group is capped at 20 with a single coach, which means Krantz can actually watch your sled technique and correct it.
Maxime Krantz has been coaching for over 10 years and competes in HYROX himself across Europe. His method covers physical preparation, cardio work, mobility and nutrition together rather than treating them as separate boxes. He works with hybrid athletes specifically — people training for the combination of strength and endurance that HYROX demands. He runs the camp in French, and the group size means he gets to know each participant's level over the three days.
The location does a lot of the work here. Being 45 minutes from Paris by train makes it accessible for a weekend, but the estate itself is set in 14 hectares of Champagne countryside, which means the trail run actually goes somewhere rather than looping a car park. Accommodation is in renovated gîtes on site, the restaurant is a few metres from your room, and the whole setup is designed so you eat, sleep and train in the same place without losing time to travel.
