HYROX Performance Week in Tenerife: Race Prep Under the Sun

Tenerife · 6 days · From EUR 1169

RACEFORM Tenerife runs as a structured performance week rather than a fitness holiday with a couple of classes bolted on. Across five nights (extendable) you work through HYROX-specific coaching, running sessions, strength work and guided recovery, with the load adjusted to your level. The week is open to all levels, including complete beginners, but the sessions are written by coaches who train athletes for the actual race — pacing, transitions, station technique and load management all get attention, not just isolated movements.

Each day has a rhythm. Mornings are for the hardest work: running intervals, HYROX station technique, or a functional conditioning session on the sleds, ergs and free weights. Midday is for eating and getting out of the sun. Afternoons are for strength work, mobility, stretching and recovery, with some free time built in for the pool, the beach or a nap. Nothing is compulsory, but the week works best when you turn up to most of it.

What separates this from a generic fitness camp is the training context. Level, goal, weekly volume and the training environment are set out clearly before you book, so you know whether you're joining a first-race week or a performance block. The working assumption across the programme is that recovery belongs in the plan — mobility, sleep, food and free time are treated as part of getting faster, not as time off from it.

The camp runs in Costa Adeje, on Tenerife's south-west coast, where the weather holds up for most of the year. That means you can run outdoors in December and do sled work outside without losing a day to rain. There's also a genuine community element: past guests describe training alongside a focused crew chasing the same race, which makes the 8 x 1 km running sessions and the station work easier to get through than they would be alone.

Because the camp is flexible on dates but structured in content, it suits two kinds of people well: the first-timer who wants to arrive at their first HYROX knowing what every station feels like, and the returning athlete who wants a dedicated block away from work and normal life. If you're somewhere in between, the coaching is scaled to where you actually are, not to a fixed template.
