HYROX Training Camp at FITKOH, Koh Samui

HYROX Training Camp at FITKOH, Koh Samui

Koh Samui · 7 days

The HYROX class itself is 60 minutes and moves fast. You'll typically start with a warm-up, then rotate through running intervals and functional stations — sled push and pull, farmer's carries, burpees, wall balls, rowing. Everything is scalable, so if you've never done a sled push before, Coach Arti will strip it back and teach the technique first; if you're race-ready, she'll push the pace and load. The class is capped at 60 minutes so it stays sharp rather than turning into a slog. Expect to be tired but not broken.

Beyond the HYROX sessions, the camp puts the rest of the training under one roof. Muay Thai is available, along with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, strength and conditioning, mobility, kettlebell classes and yoga. Meals are clean and served on site. Recovery is built into the week rather than tacked on. It's set up so you don't have to drive around the island between sessions — you train, eat and recover in the same place, with the sea a short walk away.

The coaching is the part people come back for. Coach Arti runs the HYROX classes, the mobility and kettlebell sessions, and a weekly hike. She's known as much for the detail she puts into planning each session as for the hypertrophy work she's nicknamed after. Her own background — 42kg lost, then retrained as a PT — means beginners get a coach who has actually been where they are, not someone who has only ever trained athletes.

The island is the other half of the equation. Koh Samui gives you sunshine, a breeze off the sea and a break from the grey. Between sessions you can swim, walk to a nearby beach or sit with a coffee. The crowd tends to be international, mixed ages, mixed abilities, mostly there for the same reason: to get fitter and go home feeling like they used the week properly.

The camp isn't just HYROX. People come for weight loss, general fitness, Muay Thai or BJJ, and the programme is built around whichever of those is your goal. If you're training for a race, tell them the date when you book and the week will be shaped around it. If you're not, the same structure still works — the point is to leave having learned something about how to move and train, not just having sweated for seven days.
