Ibiza Fitness Escape: 4-Day Active Stay with HIIT, Yoga & Trail Hiking

Balearic Islands · 4 days

A typical day starts early, with a yoga session led by Nadia — either on the villa terrace or somewhere in the orange groves near the property. Then it's breakfast at Casa Zumo before the main training block. That block varies: some days it's HIIT, some days it's strength and conditioning, some days it's a bike session, and at least one day it's a longer trail run or a hike. After lunch there's usually downtime at the villa — the pool, a nap, reading in the shade. Late afternoon often brings a second session, either another workout or a stretch and mobility class. Evenings are dinner at the villa, and depending on the group, some people head out to the clubs in Ibiza proper while others stay back.

What separates this from a standard fitness retreat is that Will has spent over a decade on the island and deliberately routes the hikes to places most visitors never see. Guests hike through the island's less-trodden interior rather than the usual coastal tourist paths. The villa itself, Casa Zumo, sits among orange groves, and the whole stay has the feel of being at someone's home rather than at a resort. The founders are present for the entire stay — not flown in to lead one seminar and leave.

The training is a genuine mix. Every day involves one or more of: high-intensity interval training, strength training, cardiovascular work, fitness bikes, swimming, running, hiking, yoga or stretching. Because the group is small, instructors can adjust each session on the spot for beginners or people recovering from injury or illness. One previous guest came straight off a long Covid battle, was encouraged to work at her own pace, and said the trip reset how much she believed her body could do. That's typical of the feedback.

A significant chunk of the guest list is solo travellers. The setup makes it easy — everyone eats together, trains together, and shares rooms only with same-gender guests if sharing at all. The reviews mention making friendships that outlast the trip. There's also deliberate quiet time, so it's not a bootcamp where every hour is scheduled. If you want to read by the pool for two hours instead of doing the second session, nobody stops you. All workouts are optional.

Who it's not for: anyone who wants a spa-only holiday, a silent meditation retreat, or a party-first week. Ibiza's nightlife is on the doorstep and some guests do go out, but the days are structured around training and the expectation is that you turn up reasonably able to take part. It's also not a luxury resort experience — it's a comfortable villa with shared meals, a pool and good company. That's precisely what most of the repeat guests come back for.
