Indonesia · 4 days · From USD 514
The retreat runs for four days and three nights, with a structure that balances structured healing work with free time to simply be in the jungle. Day one is about arriving and settling in—you check in from 2pm, get a complimentary massage, and have dinner, with the real programming kicking off the next morning. Day two starts with a Watukaru yoga class, then moves through the day with a cultural activity in the late afternoon and a sound healing journey after dinner. Day three is the heart of the retreat: two inner child healing workshops with Martyna, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, split by lunch and self-time. Day four winds down with a final yoga class, breakfast, and checkout.
The inner child work is led by Martyna, who has an MA in Transpersonal Psychology and over a decade of experience. The first workshop, 'Meet and Soothe Your Inner Child,' introduces the concept and gives you practical tools—journaling, meditation, visualization—to connect with that younger part of yourself. The second, 'Reparent Yourself,' focuses on building the inner parent who can nurture and protect, helping you leave feeling less reactive and more grounded. This is real therapeutic work, not a light-touch wellness extra, and it's the clear centerpiece of the retreat.
The yoga here is equally distinctive. You'll be practicing Balinese Watukaru Yoga, one of the oldest yoga traditions in the world, said to have been created by 13 yogis on Mount Batukaru thousands of years ago. The practice emphasizes meditation and inner energy flow over purely physical postures. You'll have access to Pasraman Seruling Dewata, one of the oldest spiritual ashrams in the world, which still preserves all 13 original styles. The teachers—Krishna, Putu Ayu, and others—are local Balinese practitioners, which gives the classes an authenticity you won't find in a typical resort yoga studio.
The location itself is part of the experience. The seven bamboo houses are each inspired by an animal shape, and the open-space design means you're constantly aware of the surrounding rainforest and river. The property was founded in 2017 as part of an initiative to support local communities after the Mount Agung eruption, and many of its furniture pieces are handcrafted using a 'biomimicry' approach. It's a place that feels intentional without being fussy—just a lot of nature, good food, and skilled people guiding you through the work.
