Home › Retreats › Intimate Tantra & Embodiment Retreat for Couples in Costa Rica's Jungle
Costa Rica · 5 days · From USD 5168
The retreat runs over 5 days and 4 nights at a private room inside Pachamama Eco-Village, roughly 2.5 hours by road from Liberia's Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport. A private shuttle picks you up on arrival; the return transfer is arranged for
70 if you want it coordinated. The room has a jungle view, and the property sits among lush green hills with ocean views in the distance. The programme is built around tantra as a body-based practice rather than a lecture series. Mornings tend to start with embodiment work — breath, movement and felt-sense exercises to wake the body up. Mid-morning and afternoon sessions move into tantric and sensorial massage, bodywork, conscious communication tools and ritual practice, some of it indoors, some of it outdoors by the river or waterfall. Evenings are slower, often with ceremony or quieter partner work. Because it's a private retreat for one couple, Jennifer and Catherine adjust the content daily depending on what's coming up for you both.
What separates this from other tantra retreats is the format: it is never a group. You book the whole retreat for yourselves, so there's no performing in front of strangers and no fixed curriculum to keep pace with. The facilitators work with couples specifically — Adam, Johan and J, three past guests, all describe being guided through masculine/feminine dynamics, boundary work and intimacy practice in a way that felt personal rather than generic.
Jennifer Ackad (Kalila) left a mechanical engineering career and has been working as a tantrika and yogini since 2010, with training in yoga therapy, reiki, inner relationship focusing, somatic healing, body and sexual de-armoring, temple arts, and tantric massage and bodywork. She has taught thousands of students online and in person. Catherine (Freya) works as a divine embodiment mentor, with training in somatic healing, Shakti and kundalini awakening practices, archetypal work, embodied intimacy and ceremonial ritual, and holds space for women, men and couples.
The setting does a lot of the work too. Pachamama Eco-Village is a recognised centre for transformation work, and the retreat is 10 minutes from Ostional, where thousands of turtles come ashore to nest each year. Between sessions you can walk to the river, sit by the waterfall, or just be in the jungle quiet. Costa Rica requires no vaccinations for entry, but you'll need a valid passport, proof of onward travel, and a return ticket.
