Jungle Wellness Escape: Yoga, Sound Healing & Adventure in Costa Rica

The retreat is a collaboration between Amber Brunkow, who runs The Blank Space Studio in Austin, Texas, and Snowy Rodeo, a psychic medium and sound healer. Amber brings over 20 years of yoga, breathwork, and mindfulness teaching, while Snowy adds heart-centered yoga, music, and sound baths. The daily schedule mixes energizing morning yoga with slower evening sessions, and there are workshops most days.

The location is a big part of the experience. Anamaya Resort sits on a jungle-cliffside with sweeping Pacific views, surrounded by rainforest. You're a short walk or drive from Montezuma, a laid-back beach town with a waterfall nearby, and the property itself has a pool, sauna, spa, and yoga shala.

A highlight is the Tortuga Island adventure, which includes lunch, and the Santa Teresa trip for shopping and beach time. There's also a spa day where you can use a $200 credit toward treatments, and a choice of excursions with a $50 credit. The staff even put on a performance one evening.

The week is designed for all levels — you don't need to be an experienced yogi. It's more about slowing down, connecting with others, and enjoying the natural setting. With four facilitators on hand, there's usually someone to match your energy, whether you want to be active or just rest.
