Kids' Windsurf, Wingfoil & Kitesurf Summer Camp on Limnos Island, Greece

Kids' Windsurf, Wingfoil & Kitesurf Summer Camp on Limnos Island, Greece

Greece · 10 days · From EUR 1000

A typical camp day starts at 08:00 with exercise and competitive team games, breakfast at 09:00, then the first water session from 10:00. Instructors split campers into three teams — Windsurf Flamingos, Kitesurf Dolphins and Wingfoil Eagles — and the exact programme shifts with the wind and conditions. Lunch is at 12:30, followed by shaded downtime for games or reading, and a second water session from 15:00. Showers at 18:00, dinner at 19:00, and lights out from 21:30 depending on age.

The windsurf and wingfoil camp runs 1,390 EUR and the kitesurf camp 1,490 EUR, both covering ten days. The Salty Groms Camp for ages 6–12 (14–20 June) and the Pro Kite/Wing Camp for ages 10+ (29 August–5 September) are 1,000 EUR each. Prices include insurance, transport from Sofia (bus to Kavala and ferry to Limnos), tent accommodation, all meals, four hours of daily water activities, and all equipment. Enrolling in more than one camp takes 10% off, a second sibling 15%, and a third child 25%.

What sets this apart from a standard summer camp is the equipment and the location. The base uses Duotone gear — one of the biggest names in wind and wing sports — which means kids progress faster and more safely than on mixed rental kit. Lichna Bay itself has no other surf schools or commercial operators, so the water is uncrowded and the instructors aren't competing for space. The shallow enclosed geography means parents don't have to worry about currents or open-sea exposure for the youngest campers.

Hani Gavani founded Board Academy in 2007. He's an NSA graduate and certified snowboarding coach, and also windsurfs and kitesurfs. Camp manager Monika Ruseva has over ten years in watersports and is one of the few VÖWS-certified windsurfing instructors in Bulgaria — she's on site for the whole camp handling planning, logistics and safety. The wingfoil coaching team includes Leonie Trodl, who competes on the Wingfoil World Tour in Freestyle and FreeFly-Slalom; her sister Emily Trodl, a wingfoil and windsurf coach from Austria; and Lukas Lam, a professional freestyle wingfoiler. Tennis is run by Branko and Valentina Avramovski, who have over 20 years of coaching experience and worked with the Macedonian national team.

Limnos itself is one of Greece's least crowded islands — wide sandy beaches, volcanic rock formations, dunes, traditional villages and family-run tavernas, without the summer crowds of the Cyclades. Campers get out beyond the bay for cliff jumping, sandboarding, wave surfing, salt lake visits and trips into Myrina, the island capital, 20 minutes from the base.
