Home › Retreats › Koh Samui Reformer Pilates Week: Daily Small-Group Classes and a Five-Star Beach Hotel in Bophut
Koh Samui · 8 days · From EUR 2652
A typical day starts at the hotel in Bophut with breakfast, which is included in your room. A driver then takes you about 10 minutes along the coast to the studio in Chaweng, on the third floor at 4/38 Moo 2. Class is a small-group reformer session of no more than ten people. The work is low-impact and easy on the joints: strength, mobility and control, with room to rest between sets. The studio itself describes it plainly: it is not a bootcamp.
After class you head downstairs to Isla Café for lunch. Each day you get ฿700 to spend on the menu, and there are vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options. The kitchen can also handle nut allergies. You're welcome to use the studio between classes too. After that you get a ride back to the hotel, and the rest of the day has no schedule. Swim at the beachfront pool, walk across the grounds to the sand, book a massage, rent a scooter and ride round the island, or do nothing at all. Dinner is on you. Chaweng, Bophut's Fisherman's Village and the beach roads are full of places to eat.
This week differs from many Pilates retreats in two ways. First, you're joining a real working studio, not a pop-up programme run for one group. The teachers know their reformers and their regulars, and you slot in as one of them. Second, there's no fixed group and no fixed start date. You choose when to arrive, and a person checks your room is available before confirming the booking, rather than an automated system.
The teaching team is small. One of the teachers is Balanced Body–certified and has more than 2,000 hours of group-class teaching. Several reviewers mention Teacher Nek by name as patient and helpful. One first-timer described her classes as 'enjoyable yet kinda strenuous.' May, the founder, is the person who answers your messages and arranges your stay.
Koh Samui is warm all year. December to April is usually driest. Late October to early December is usually wettest, but the rain tends to come in bursts rather than all day. If you want more than one class a day, you can add extra group classes. You can also book private one-to-one reformer sessions, 60-minute massages at the studio, sound baths and a scooter. Mention how many you'd like when you book, and they'll be added when your room is confirmed.
