Home › Retreats › Legal Psilocybin Truffle Retreat in the Dutch Countryside
Netherlands · 5 days · From USD 5797
Days follow a set shape. Day one is arrival by 12:00, settling in, sharing intentions with the group and a first one-on-one session with a facilitator. Day two starts with breathwork, then the first truffle ceremony. Day three is given over to processing: group sharing, embodied practices, a second one-on-one session and space to reflect before the next ceremony. Day four repeats the breathwork-then-ceremony pattern. Day five closes with group integration practices and a final one-on-one session before people travel home.
Dosage is agreed rather than assigned. Guests discuss it with their facilitator on site, and the first ceremony generally uses 15g of psilocybin-containing truffles. The second can go up to a maximum of 30g, adjusted according to how the first went. The truffles are served as a tea.
What separates this from a generic psychedelic retreat is the structure around the ceremonies. The preparation and integration sessions are treated as required parts of the programme, not extras, and the page asks people to confirm they can attend all of them before registering. Every applicant goes through a health screening reviewed by a dedicated clinical team, and the page lists specific exclusions including a history of psychosis, schizophrenia, personality disorders, dissociative disorders, suicidal ideation or a history of attempted suicide, psychiatric hospitalisation and self-harm.
The venue, New Eden, is a quiet rural property with several buildings, single and double rooms, and private toilets in every room. Meals are vegetarian, organic, seasonal and locally sourced, with coffee, herbal teas, fruit and nut snacks between meals.
The facilitation team includes Hanneke Shots, a psychodynamic therapist in Amsterdam specialising in trauma and inner child work who uses breathwork, hypnotherapy, shadow work and voice dialogue; Lesley Joy Quilty, who has four decades of group facilitation experience and a background in Buddhist Insight meditation, Sundance and Sweatlodge practices, Conscious Connected Breathwork and archetypal psychology; Mary Bredin, a psychotherapist with over 30 years in UK healthcare settings who specialises in loss and change; Bernardino Machado, a religion sociologist and physiotherapist who has worked as a Yoga Alliance certifier for a decade; and Dr Lela Mosemghvdlishvili, a board member of the Amsterdam Psychedelic Research Association since 2017 who teaches a course on psychedelics at the University of Amsterdam.
