Egypt · 7 days
A typical day here is yours to shape. Most guests start with breakfast at the resort, then either head to the tennis courts for a morning session or out on a dive boat. The Four Seasons Tennis Centre offers coaching and court hire, so you can book a lesson, arrange a hitting partner or just play with whoever you've brought. Diving is arranged through the resort's dive operation — reef dives straight off Sharm's coast, plus boat trips to sites like Ras Mohammed and the wrecks in the Strait of Tiran. If you'd rather do nothing, the pools and private beach are right there.
What separates this from a standard beach hotel booking is that it's put together by a specialist travel company that has been running healthy and active holidays for over 15 years. They handle the flights, the transfer (10 minutes from the airport), the room category and the activities as one package, and you get an experienced local team on the ground in Egypt looking after you while you're there. It's an ATOL-protected booking, too, which matters when you're paying for flights and accommodation together.
The Four Seasons itself is the anchor. It's a large beachside resort on the Sinai Peninsula with multiple pools, several restaurants, a spa and direct beach access. Rooms and suites face the sea or the gardens. It's a resort that works equally for couples, families and groups of friends — there's a kids' club and family-friendly facilities, but the spa and the quieter pool areas mean adults travelling without children aren't tripping over them either.
Sharm El Sheikh as a destination has quietly become one of the Middle East's most popular Red Sea spots. It's a resort town built around diving and beach tourism, with Naama Bay's restaurants and bars a short drive away if you want a change of scene from the hotel. The diving genuinely is world-class: reef systems, coral gardens, wall dives, drift dives and night dives, plus the famous wreck dives in the northern Red Sea.
Timing is worth thinking about. March to April and October to November are the sweet spots — warm but not punishing. June to August is very hot (40°C+), though it's low season so prices drop. Ramadan sees some businesses closed for the month, and the Islamic holidays Eid al-Adha and Ras as-Sana are extremely busy because Egyptians are all on holiday at once — the dates shift each year, so check before booking. British passport holders normally need a visa, though a free entry stamp is available for up to 15 days at some resorts.
This isn't a group retreat with a fixed schedule and a set group of strangers — it's a private, tailored holiday. You're not joining a cohort or following a programme. If you want daily tennis coaching and two dives a day, they'll build that. If you want one lesson and mostly pool time, they'll build that instead.
