Home › Retreats › Luxury Muay Thai Fight Camps with Pro Fighter Sean Fagan: Costa Rica, Thailand & Morocco
Costa Rica · 7 days · From EUR 1695
The setup is straightforward: you train with Sean and a hand-picked team of coaches, eat well, and use the rest of the day to actually see where you are. Sessions run roughly 90 minutes. On the Costa Rica and Thailand trips that means two Muay Thai sessions most days — usually one in the morning and one in the late afternoon — with daily yoga, open BJJ, mobility and breathwork sessions slotted around them. Morocco follows a similar rhythm but swaps one training block for a surf: Muay Thai with sea views in the morning, time in the Atlantic swell, then yoga at sunset.
What separates this from a standard fight camp is the destination work. In Thailand you get two live fight nights in real stadiums, kettlebell work on the beach, ice baths, a sunset boat trip, a waterfall hike, and Songkran — the Thai New Year water festival — celebrated on Chaweng Beach Road with the rest of the group. In Costa Rica: waterfall hikes, beach bonfires, sunset watch parties, and group excursions out from Nosara. In Morocco: guided trips to souks and medinas, tagine dinners, and oceanside partner drills and light sparring.
Sean's own path is what the camps are built on. He started Muay Thai under JJ Russo at Stockade Muay Thai in Kingston, New York, at the end of a boxing career, and went on to compete more than 30 times as a pro and amateur. He won two amateur championships — one of them with a broken arm — and took a title at Madison Square Garden. He has since coached full-time for over 10 years, and his YouTube channel has reached millions of fighters and hobbyists. Muay Thai Vacations is the in-person version of that instruction: a week in a room with a real coach rather than a screen.
Nobody gets turned away for being new. The FAQ is blunt about it — the room regularly includes people who have never thrown a punch standing next to folks with 10 years of gym time, and guests in their 50s and 60s show up on most trips. Drills and partner work scale to your level, and you can sit out a session and rejoin when you're ready. The instruction is genuinely beginner-friendly on technique from day one.
If you can't take a full week, there's a 2-night format in New Paltz, New York — fly into NYC, drive 90 minutes upstate, train with Sean at his home gym, and be home by Sunday night. It includes two private lessons with Sean, one group session at Gambit Fighting, hikes at River to Ridge and Mohonk, and meals at local spots, all with ground transport covered. Rooms are in a private studio on Sean's property, and the group is capped at 1–2 people.
