Masuria Weight Loss & Fitness Boot Camp: 7-Hour Daily Training in Poland's Lake District

Lake District · 7 days · From EUR 700

Fox Boot Camp has been running slimming and fitness holidays in Masuria for 12 years, and the formula hasn't changed much: put people in a beautiful forest setting, feed them well, and train them hard six days a week. Days begin at 7am and end after dinner, with around seven hours of physical activity split into five blocks. The morning usually pairs stretching and Nordic walking with tabata intervals; the late morning is obstacle-course work plus weight training; midday is CrossFit or team games; the afternoon is circuit training focused on the abdomen and glutes; and the day closes with a dedicated stretching session. Trainers vary the format constantly — no two days repeat — using 19 different activity types across the week, from kick-boxing and Body Pump to kayaking and yoga.

What makes this camp different from a typical fitness retreat is the scale of the training base. It's 10 hectares of maintained outdoor space with 30 different obstacles, including four separate obstacle courses, plus equipment like bicycles, barbells, medicine balls, punching bags and logs. Kayak routes go through the Borecka Forest, where bison live. The accommodation is a guest house that serves only camp guests, set right on the edge of the forest, with a garden, stream, terraces and deck chairs — the kind of place you actually want to sit in after a long training day. Rooms are single or double, each with its own bathroom, and there's a sauna on site.

The diet is a big part of the sell here. Meals are built around minimally processed, high-protein superfoods, with three main dishes a day plus two snacks, isotonic drinks and unlimited water. There's no sugar or unhealthy fat, but portions are adjusted to your goal — larger if you're training for endurance, controlled if you're here to lose weight. During the week you'll attend two nutrition lectures and can join cooking workshops where you learn to bake bread and prepare the dishes you've been eating. You leave with the recipes and a 12-week training plan.

The standard programmes are 3, 7 or 14 days, but there are also specialist weeks: a running camp with three sessions a day focused on technique and endurance, a culinary slimming week with one main training per day plus workshops, and a Runmageddon preparation camp using CrossFit-style training and the four obstacle courses. The 14-day option is the most popular because it's long enough to see real change — up to 8 kilos and 16 centimetres lost from the waist and hips.

Joanna and Robert, the founders, are present every day. Joanna is the dietician, Robert the head trainer, and between them they've run 301 camps for over 5,500 participants. It's a family-style operation, not a chain, and the reviews consistently mention the atmosphere — people show up alone and leave with a group of friends. The camp is not for absolute beginners who can't commit to six days of hard training, but the three intensity levels mean you can scale every session to what you can handle, and the trainers watch closely to make sure you're not overdoing it. Most guests are between 25 and 55, roughly evenly split between men and women, and many come solo.
