Menorca Vinyasa & Adventure Yoga Retreat: 6 Days on the Balearic Island

Balearic Islands · 6 days · From EUR 1599

The days have a shape that repeats, which is the point. You get up for an 8am two-hour practice — Vinyasa and Power Yoga for all levels, plus meditation, pranayama and time to write if that's your thing. Brunch follows at 10am and it's a proper one: fresh fruit, juices, yogurt, and savoury plates including local Mahón cheese, tortilla and pa amb tomàquet. From 11am the day is open. Swim, sleep, drive to a beach, book a massage, or walk a stretch of the Camí de Cavalls. A light snack lands around 3pm, afternoon yoga at 5pm, and a three-course buffet dinner at 7.30pm.

What separates this from a generic island yoga week is who's teaching and how long they've been at it. Lisa Andersson Rhodiner has been teaching since her first training in 2012 and has logged over 6,000 teaching hours, 20-plus international teacher trainings and more than 100 retreats. Nazareno Grisolia has taught full-time worldwide since 2011 with over 5,000 teaching hours and comes from a martial arts and Ashtanga background. Both are registered E-RYT 500 or YACEP providers. That shows up in the classes: strong, well-sequenced flows with hands-on adjustments and thought-through playlists in the morning; on the other side, workshops with practical detail — the handstand sessions get mentioned by name in reviews.

The setting does a lot of work too. Damajuana is a historic guesthouse dating to 1792, set in open Menorcan countryside near Ferreries. There's a big garden with fruit trees, a small pool, shaded patios, quiet corners, and its own caves. Ten rooms of varying sizes — twin, double and single — some ensuite, some sharing a bathroom with one or two other rooms. It's rustic and Mediterranean rather than polished hotel, and the group eats, rests and practises on the same plot all week.

Menorca itself is small and easy to move around: about 50 minutes west to east, 30 minutes north to south. The airport is at Mahón (MAH), roughly a 30-minute drive from the finca, with cheap regular flights from Barcelona. A rental car is recommended — solo or shared, and the hosts help pair people up — though a €60 taxi gets you there on arrival day, and you can absolutely spend the week without one if you mainly want to stay put.

One day of the six is spent on a boat, visiting hidden beaches along the coast; the afternoon snack comes with you. Beyond that, guests tend to fill free time with swims at Cala Mitjana or Macarella, a hike on the Camí de Cavalls, or a trip into Mahón or Ciutadella. The retreat opens with a welcome circle in the garden at 5pm on arrival day following a 4pm check-in — yoga and dinner after — and closes after a shorter morning class and brunch on the final day, with check-out at 11am.
