Muay Thai and Fitness Training Camp in Baja California Sur, Mexico

Muay Thai and Fitness Training Camp in Baja California Sur, Mexico

California · 7 days

A typical day runs from 09:00 to 17:00 with a long break in the middle. You start on the mats with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling and grappling drills — technical floor work for all levels. At 10:30 the focus switches to high-intensity fitness and metabolic conditioning using the camp's 360X methodology. Afternoons begin with cardio at 15:30, then boxing at 16:00 for hands and footwork, and traditional Muay Thai striking at 17:00. Saturday breaks the pattern with seafront conditioning at 08:30, leaving camp at 07:30. Sunday you rest.

What separates this from a standard Muay Thai holiday is who is teaching. Mike "Rambo" Saint Claire has over two decades in high-level Muay Thai and MMA and still competes, having fought in Thailand's top stadiums. He holds a Pan Asian Grappling gold medal and has been a regional Muay Thai and MMA champion. Sessions are capped in size so he can correct your technique personally rather than watching from the side.

The camp has been running since 2006, and the conditioning side has been built up over that time rather than bolted on. That matters if you are training for something specific — a HYROX race, a first fight, or just getting fitter — because the programming is scaled to your level instead of being one fixed circuit for everyone.

La Paz itself is worth the trip. Balandra Beach has been voted the most beautiful beach in Mexico and is good for kayaking. You can swim with whale sharks in the bay, walk or run the seaside Malecón, and take a boat to Espiritu Santo Island, a UNESCO site where you can snorkel reefs and swim with sea lions.

The setting is an off-grid compound in the desert terrain of Baja California Sur, away from urban noise. There is a pool and hot tub, an outdoor gym with punching bags, and recovery areas with desert views. It is a training camp first and a resort second, and it is priced and run that way.
