Muay Thai & MMA Fight Camp in Phuket with World-Class Coaches

Thailand · 7 days · From EUR 500

A typical day at Bangtao starts early to beat the heat. Group warm-up is usually around 7:00 or 7:30am, then you move into your chosen discipline. Muay Thai sessions cover stance, footwork, teep and roundhouse technique, clinch work, and pad rounds with a coach holding for you. MMA sessions mix striking, takedown entries and ground work. If you're new, a coach will pull you aside and walk you through the basics before you join the main group. After the morning block you'll have a few hours to eat, rest and recover before the afternoon session, which is often more conditioning-heavy — bag rounds, sparring, or a strength and conditioning class in the gym.

The camp has dedicated programs for Muay Thai, MMA, BJJ, kickboxing, wrestling, boxing, strength and conditioning, Bangtao Fit (fitness classes), kettlebells, mobility, Hyrox and yoga. That means you can build a week that's mostly striking, mostly grappling, or a mix. There's also a weight-loss transformation track with body composition analysis if that's your goal, and you can book one-on-one sessions with specific coaches.

What sets this place apart is the coaching roster and the facility itself. The gym is purpose-built for combat sports, with a full-size ring, mat areas, heavy bags, and strength equipment. Coaches include active and former professional fighters who have cornered athletes at the highest level. The camp also runs seminars and events — for example a mindset seminar with Mike and a three-day camp with Dorian Olivarez — so your week might overlap with something extra.

Location-wise, you're in Bang Tao on Phuket's west coast. The beach is a 10-minute walk, and there are restaurants, cafes and shops nearby. The onsite Ringside Cafe handles a lot of the post-training meals, and accommodation is either in onsite camp rooms or partnered hotels within walking distance. Phuket International Airport is about 30–40 minutes away by car.

Reviews on Google sit at 4.9 out of 5, with people calling out the inclusive atmosphere, the cleanliness, and specific staff like Izzy Bew. It's a place where you can turn up alone and end up training with a group by the end of the first session.
