Thailand · 3 days
Training at Khongsittha runs twice a day, six days a week. Mornings usually start around 07:00 with a run and skipping, then pad work, bag work and clinching. Afternoons repeat the format with different drills. Sessions are group-based but trainers watch each person and correct technique individually. The camp welcomes first-timers, and several reviews mention how patient the trainers are with people who have never thrown a punch.
What sets this camp apart is the setup: the gym and the accommodation are on the same property. You finish training, walk to your room, shower, and eat. There is no commute. The rooms are described as secure, private and clean, and the resort has a restaurant on site. The camp also has an ice bath, which guests use between sessions.
Co-founder Matthew Deane is a professional MC for fight promotions in Thailand. Once a week, the camp organises a trip to a stadium so guests can watch fights ringside. The camp also has connections to world champions like Saenchai, Petchboonchu and Weili Zhang, who have trained or visited.
For those staying a month or longer, the camp offers an Educational Muay Thai Visa, which allows a 3-month or 12-month stay. This is a relatively rare privilege – only a handful of schools in Thailand can provide it. Completing 30 days of training earns a certificate certified by the Ministry of Education and following the Sports Authority of Thailand curriculum.
The location is outside central Bangkok, which guests say makes it less hectic than downtown. There are local restaurants and convenience stores within walking distance, and the camp provides a map of recommended places. You can also order healthy food delivery. The camp can arrange transport to tourist attractions and restaurants if you want to explore.
