Multi-Day Yoga and Hiking Escape in the Dolomites – Val di Funes Yoga Retreat

South Tyrol · 4 days · From EUR 350

Hotel Fines sits at 1,156 m at the very end of the road in Val di Funes, above the church of St. Peter. The retreat is run from here, so the walks start at the front door — no daily shuttles to a trailhead. The unmissable view is the row of Odle/Geisler spires across the valley, which you look at over breakfast on the terrace and from the yoga mat in the garden.

The daily rhythm: breakfast is a buffet between 07:30 and 10:00 with South Tyrolean speck, farm eggs, yogurt, muesli, fruit and homemade jams. Yoga sessions run roughly 90 minutes, some mornings in the garden shala and some indoors in the hotel's yoga room. On the middle day there's a guided hike of around 4–6 hours — usually the Adolf Munkel Weg, which runs under the north walls of the Odle from Zannes to Brogles, or the climb up to the Tullen meadows viewpoint. Your guide handles the route and the timing, and you carry lunch, water and a rain layer; stops at a mountain hut happen on the longer variants. An afternoon session — vinyasa or restorative, with a yin class on the final evening — follows a light afternoon snack. Dinner is served from 18:30, four to five courses, and the hotel has a wine list of local South Tyrolean bottles.

The group is small (max 18), and most guests are couples, friends travelling together or solo travellers happy to share the yoga room with strangers by day and eat at their own table by night. Some guests book specifically for the hiking and treat the yoga as the stretch-and-recover part; others come for the daily practice and take the hike as a bonus. The hotel does both.

Val di Funes is about 40 km from Bolzano, and there is a shuttle bus from Chiusa/Klausen station at the valley floor. Many guests arrive by car; parking at the hotel is free. Because it's a hotel stay with a fixed programme, you can usually add extra nights before or after if you want more time in the valley.

What separates it from the many alpine yoga weeks is the combination of location and operator: Hotel Fines is one of the few places in the valley with its own yoga room and garden shala, and the hikes are led by a local guide who knows when the hut kitchens close and which paths get busy. There's no big-city branding here — it's a small hotel that has quietly added a yoga and hiking programme because its guests kept asking for one.
