NUXE Spa Wellness Escape at Château d'Urspelt, Luxembourg

The spa sits inside Château d'Urspelt, a hotel with rooms, packages and a restaurant, so anyone booking this is booking a hotel stay with spa access. The spa menu itself describes a wellness area open to residents at €60 per person per visit, or free when you book a massage or treatment. It's open 10am–7pm every day of the year.

The wellness area is built around a themed indoor swimming pool arranged as underwater grottoes — the kind of lit, arched pool you swim through rather than lap in. Six treatment rooms sit alongside it, including a duo suite with its own private whirlpool bath. There's a relaxation room for lying down between treatments, whirlpool baths, hanging swings, and a tea room with a fireplace where tea is served. A Technogym gym rounds out the offering for anyone who wants to train.

The treatments themselves are NUXE® branded. Massages here are described by the property as body modelling, beauty and well-being treatments — non-therapeutic and non-medical. The spa keeps a strict schedule: arrive 10 minutes before your appointment, and if you're late, your treatment is shortened by the amount you're late. Cancellations need 48 hours' notice, or the booking is lost with no refund. Treatment purchases are personal, non-transferable and non-refundable.

House rules worth reading before you go: swimsuit is mandatory throughout the spa (sauna and steam room are the exception — they can be used with or without one). Children aged 12 and over can use the spa if accompanied. Body treatments and massages are not available to under-18s or to pregnant women. Facial treatments are best booked an hour after shaving if you're shaving that day.

The most premium option on the menu is the Private NUXE® Spa interlude: 45 minutes in a private whirlpool followed by a 45-minute NUXE® massage, with a 37.5cl bottle of Taittinger champagne, priced at €399 for two people. That room is reservation-only, face and body treatments are not performed in it, and it's not available to under-18s.
