A stay here is built from parts. The base is your room — a penthouse suite, an ocean-view bungalow or a nature yurt — and the rest you assemble from the spa menu, the wellness class schedule and, if the dates line up, one of the scheduled group retreats. The property describes itself as an eco-boutique hotel and wellness spa, and the facilities back that up: an infinity pool and hot tub, a wellness and workout studio, oceanfront venues, a private library and theatre room, and free wireless internet across the grounds.
The spa, Maluhia, works from Hawaiian healing traditions alongside other spa practices. Lomilomi massage is on the list, as are energising body wraps. Treatments and classes are booked separately from the room, and the property also offers private consultations with its therapists, instructors and counsellors. Wellness classes cover spa, mindfulness, natural health and green living, so a fitness-focused guest and someone after quiet sit in the same weekly timetable.
Group retreats bring in outside teachers. The 2026 and 2027 calendar includes Coming Home to the Heart – A Sacred Reunion (8 days, September 2026), Reiki Retreat, Hawaiian Style (5 days, November 2026), Guru Matthew John Hawaii Retreat 2026 (5 days, November 2026), Rest & Reconnect Yoga Retreat (6 days, January 2027), Bowing to Gaia: Dancing with the Aliveness of All Beings (8 days, February 2027), Finding the Refuge Within: A Silent Meditation Retreat (7 days, February–March 2027) and R e s e t. Retreat, a 4-day/3-night women's retreat in April 2027. Each has its own page and its own teacher; the hotel provides the rooms, food and grounds.
The land itself is part of the programme. The 50 acres take in gardens, wild groves and ancient valley trails, and the property runs a farm and garden that feeds into its cuisine. The North Kohala coastline is the setting throughout — ocean breezes, evergreens, and oceanfront venues for group sessions.
What separates this from a standard Hawaii resort is the format: it is small (40 people maximum), the accommodation includes yurts and off-grid-style nature stays rather than only hotel rooms, and the wellness side is staffed rather than bolted on. You are not buying a fixed itinerary — you are buying a base and choosing how much structure to add.
