Detox and Cleanse is The Sacred Lotus's structured Panchakarma programme: a doctor-guided purification in Fort Kochi, on the Kerala coast, that clears accumulated toxins (Ama) so the body can rebalance and recover its natural vitality.
Your stay starts with an Ayurvedic doctor assessing your constitution, dosha imbalance and medical history through pulse reading, observation and questions, then setting the plan and its intensity for you. Pre-cleansing (Poorva Karma) follows, with internal and external oil therapies and steam treatments that loosen toxins and prepare the body for elimination.
The core detox (Pradhana Karma) uses one or more classical Panchakarma procedures, such as Vamana, Virechana, Vasti, Nasya or Raktamokshana, on set days, with a controlled diet and close monitoring. Post-care (Paschatkarma) then brings in a gradually strengthening Ayurvedic diet, lifestyle adjustments and simple yoga practice so you return to daily life well.
Every day includes one major and one minor therapy as prescribed, group yoga, pranayama and meditation, all meals from your prescribed diet, and every Ayurvedic medicine prescribed during your stay. Fourteen days is the minimum, a mild detox with early benefits for digestion, bloating, sleep and energy; 14 to 21 days allows deeper cleansing and more thorough correction. Many guests repeat it every three to six months, often seasonally or together with a rejuvenation programme.
