Bring your own group of three to six to Uløya, an island at the northern tip of the Lyngen Alps, 500 km beyond the Arctic Circle, for a week of ski touring with your own lodge and your own guide. Lyngen Outdoor Center sits in Uløybukt, 100 m from the ferry port, and was built and is run by professional skiers and mountaineers in one of the finest ski touring areas anywhere.

A private group has a lodge with 4 double bedrooms to itself and a private IVBV/IFMGA mountain guide. That gives you full independence, both at the lodge and in planning each day's touring. Your guide picks the tours around the weather, the snow, avalanche conditions and what your group wants to do. Options include peaks straight from the lodge such as Blåtinden (1142 m), plus trips on the mainland and up to two days on the neighbouring Lyngen Islands or the Lyngen peninsula. Days are up to 1500 m of elevation (more on request, for an extra fee).

The week includes 7 nights in the lodge, 6 guided touring days and full board: breakfast, a packed lunch with a thermos flask, a four-course dinner, snacks and fruit. Local transport to the trailheads and all ferry tickets are included. You also have the lodge's boats (petrol included) and sea fishing gear. The lodges are 50 m from the water, each with a fireplace, a private sauna and a heated drying room for your kit.

Private groups can also arrange extras at an extra price before arrival: ice climbing, dog sledding, snowscooters and snowholing. The cooking is a fusion of local tradition and international spice, with moose and reindeer, fresh fish and freshly baked bread, in amounts to match a skier's appetite.
