Private Yoga & Creativity Mentorship Escape in the Guatemalan Highlands

Private Yoga & Creativity Mentorship Escape in the Guatemalan Highlands

Guatemala · 4 days · From USD 724

The retreat runs for three nights and four days, with a structure that balances active practice with plenty of space to rest. Day one is arrival and orientation — you settle in, set intentions, and have a wellness assessment with Jiya. Days two and three each start with a lake-view yoga practice, meditation, breathwork, and journaling. Mornings also include either a one-on-one mentorship session or a gentle hike with a fire ceremony on the final day. Afternoons are free in the basic package, or filled with a ritual creative workshop — writing, art, music, crafts, or cooking — if you upgrade to the Golden Package. The last morning closes with a fire ceremony and integration, before you head home.

What makes this different from a standard yoga retreat is the one-on-one mentorship running through it. Jiya works with you to design the program based on your needs, whether that's life coaching, therapeutic creativity, or just space to rest. She blends coactive coaching with mindfulness, writing therapy, and ritual, and has 15 years of experience. The daily themes and journal prompts are meant to help you go deeper into your own creative and spiritual process, not to follow a fixed sequence.

The creative component is a big part of it. You can choose from creative writing, art, voice medicine, medicinal kitchen, crafts, or chocolate workshops. It's treated as a spiritual practice — something you do to reconnect with yourself, not just to make something. The setting supports this: quiet afternoons in a hammock, exploring nearby market towns, or staring out at the volcanoes.

Casa Kula is an eco-conscious property with a strong community feel. There are medicinal gardens to wander, a yoga deck, and a sweat lodge when it's operational. The nearby village of Tzununa is small, and the lake town of San Marcos is a short boat ride away for cafes and restaurants. It's a place to unplug — wifi is available but you'll likely find yourself putting the phone down.
