Home › Retreats › Private Yoga & Meditation Wellness Retreat in Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka · 3 days · From USD 215
The retreat is held in a private villa that sleeps just two guests. The villa has one bedroom, one bathroom, a kitchen, and a yoga shala attached to the house, connected by a pond with lotus flowers. The garden is full of trees and birds, and the high ceilings in the rooms make the space feel open and airy. It's a simple, quiet setup, but everything you need is there, and the focus is on the practice and the village life around you.
Twice a day, in the morning and afternoon, you'll practice yoga and meditation. The morning session is about moving the body and finding stillness in the quiet of the village. The afternoon session is Yin yoga followed by another meditation. In between, you'll have time for activities like cycling to the local market, visiting the ancient city of Anuradhapura, swimming in the lake, and cooking over an open fire with Jennifer's grandmother. These aren't polished excursions — they're real glimpses into how people live here.
Jennifer is a certified Hatha, Yin, and Vinyasa teacher from Austria. She's 31 and has been living in Sri Lanka, where she manages the retreat and acts as host, instructor, and friend. The vibe is warm and relaxed, and because it's such a small group, you get her full attention throughout the day.
The retreat is located in Sravasthipura, a two-minute walk from a lake surrounded by farms. The sunsets there are supposed to be stunning. It's peaceful, quiet, and about as far from a traditional resort experience as you can get. If you're looking for a retreat that's more about connecting with a place and its people than about luxury amenities, this is it.
