Psychedelic-Assisted Wellness Retreat in the Netherlands with Expert Facilitators

Netherlands · 6 days

The signature programme runs for five nights and is bookended by remote support. Four weeks before you travel, you start one-to-one and group sessions online to set intentions and get to know the others in your cohort. Then you arrive at De Hoorneboeg, 25 miles from Amsterdam, for five nights that include two psilocybin ceremonies led by experienced facilitators. After you go home, you get six weeks of virtual integration sessions to help make sense of what came up and carry it into daily life.

De Hoorneboeg sits on the site of two former sheep farms and was founded as a place for contemplation and meditation. The 14-acre estate is quiet and green, with a lake and nature trails, and the buildings have been tastefully renovated. Two renovated 18th-century farm buildings hold simple bedrooms plus a hammam and sauna. Meals are organic and vegetarian, prepared by chefs with produce from the kitchen gardens. Upcoming five-night dates listed are August and October 2026.

The shorter option is a four-night psychedelic retreat at The Place to Be, a former monastery in the Achterhoek region of the eastern Netherlands. It's surrounded by woodland and open meadows. Rooms are minimalist and comfortable — no frills, but calm and grounding. You spend downtime in the tranquil gardens and eat meals prepared with care. This version is also science-based and led by experts, and the stated aim is clarity, creativity and connection. Dates listed are September, October, November and December 2026.

What separates Beckley from other Netherlands psilocybin providers is the ratio and the scaffolding. With at least one facilitator for every four participants, there's plenty of individual attention during ceremonies and someone to talk to afterwards. The four weeks of preparation and six weeks of integration are included, not sold as extras. And the organisation's roots are in clinical research — Feilding's work with institutions like Imperial College and Johns Hopkins underpins the safety protocols.

The group setting matters too. People tend to arrive from a mix of backgrounds — one reviewed cohort included a chef, a gallerist, business owners, veterans and an NGO head — and stay in touch through the integration programme. It's not a drop-in experience; it's a small, closed group that moves through the whole arc together.

Both locations are in the Netherlands because psilocybin use and cultivation is legal there, which is why the retreats can operate openly with trained facilitators rather than in a grey area. That legal clarity is part of why the programme can be as structured and safety-focused as it is.
