Home › Retreats › Sacred Plant Herbalism & Wilderness Immersion in Mount Shasta, California
United States · 6 days · From EUR 1840
The retreat runs for six days at a property on Mount Shasta, California. The landscape is a big part of why it's held here — volcanic terrain, dense forest and wildflower meadows within walking or short driving distance of the accommodation. Participants hike out to these meadows during the week to meet Yarrow growing wild, and to harvest it ethically under guidance.
Daily rhythm: mornings open with plant meditations, gentle movement and dream exploration. The middle of the day is immersive nature time — ceremony, wild harvesting and herbal medicine workshops. Afternoons include personal quiet time to build your own relationship with the plants. Evenings bring the group back together for shared meals and fire circles, where people talk through what came up during the day.
What you actually make: participants prepare herbal medicines by hand across the week, drawing on both Western clinical herbalism and South American traditions. You'll work with non-psychoactive plants only, with Yarrow as the central plant of the retreat. Expect tinctures, oils or similar preparations depending on what's ready to harvest.
Day 4 is a full day of silence. It includes plant baths and bodywork, and the rest of the day is yours to spend alone with the land. For many people this is the part of the week that lands hardest — no talking, no schedule beyond the treatments, just time outside.
Compared to a standard herbalism workshop, the difference here is that you're living on the land you're learning from for six days, and the group eats and sits around the fire together each night. The retreat is capped at a small group size, though the exact number is confirmed on booking. The closing ceremony involves an earth offering and a deliberate wind-down before travel home.
