Sacred Plant Medicine & Somatic Healing Retreat in the Colombian Mountains

The 11-Day Private Group Ayahuasca & Somatic Journey at Fuente Alegre represents a new paradigm in plant medicine work—one that honors both ancient wisdom and contemporary understanding of trauma and the nervous system. Located in the lush mountains of Cocorná, Antioquia, just two hours from Medellín, this retreat center was hand-built with natural materials by facilitators Lara and Diego, creating a space that literally embodies the principles of harmony with nature that guide every aspect of your experience.

The retreat structure is thoughtfully designed to support your process before, during, and after ceremonies. Before sitting with the medicine, you'll establish four essential layers of safety: safety in the place through orientation and grounding, safety with the group through playful connection activities, safety with the facilitators who remain present throughout the entire retreat, and safety in the body through somatic tools and nervous system regulation. This foundation allows you to release control and connect more deeply with the medicine.

Three Yagé ceremonies, led by Taita Libardo—a master healer with over 25 years of experience from the Tiger Clan of La Pedrera, Amazonas—form the ceremonial heart of the retreat. The medicine used has been lovingly prepared by the Taita and his team using plants grown on the very land where you'll sit, enhancing the potency and grounding your journey in the spirit of the mountains and ancestral wisdom. Optional Kambo ceremonies offer additional opportunities for cleansing and preparation.

What sets this experience apart is the integration of somatic practices throughout. Movement therapist Lara guides daily sessions in conscious movement, breathwork, and body awareness techniques that help you process and embody your experiences. Art therapy sessions, journaling, and sharing circles provide multiple pathways for integration. River baths, forest hikes, and visits to natural pools weave nature immersion into every day, recognizing that the body is nature and heals in relationship with the natural world.

The retreat culminates not with the final ceremony but with thorough integration practices, ensuring you leave not just with peak experiences but with genuine transformation anchored in your body and ready to inform your daily life.
