Home › Retreats › Samoa Eco Yoga Retreat: 8 Days of Yoga, Snorkelling and Coral Planting
Samoa · 8 days
Days start with morning yoga asana and meditation, with yin practice in the afternoon. Between sessions the schedule moves around the island's south coast: snorkelling and SUP on the protected reef at Aga Resort, boat trips to deserted islands, swimming under waterfalls, and a visit to the To Sua Trench, a giant natural swimming hole you climb down into via a wooden ladder. Coral planting and environmental exploration are part of the week, not an add-on.
What separates this from a standard beach yoga week is the cultural programme. Guests spend time with a Matai and an Orator, attend a Fia Fia night with a Samoan banquet, and can opt into a school or church visit. The 2025 retreat adds cacao ceremonies and a reforestation initiative intended to offset the flights of everyone attending.
The food is a genuine part of it. A Samoan chef cooks a sustainable plant-based menu from locally sourced ingredients — vegetarian breakfast, lunch and dinner are included, and freshly caught seafood can be purchased separately.
Accommodation is eight days and seven nights, included in the price, though the listing does not break down room types or board basis beyond the meals above. Yoga mats and props are provided, so you don't need to pack them.
The retreat is run by Eco Yoga Retreats, set up after the operator led the 2024 Samoa retreat. Full details on accommodation, retreat leaders and yoga teachers, and booking are handled through ecoyogaretreats.org. The 2–9 August 2025 departure is sold out; 30 August to 6 September 2025 is open.
