United Kingdom · 7 days · From EUR 1199
FitFarms Scotland sits on the riverbank of the River Lochay in Killin, Highland Perthshire, right at the foot of Glen Lochay. The accommodation is a large house dating to 1765 that started life as a coaching inn — it's been renovated but keeps original features, and the communal areas have open fireplaces. Bedrooms are contemporary with modern conveniences, and there's plenty of indoor and outdoor space around the property. From the windows you look out over the hills and the river; it's genuinely one of the prettier spots in Scotland, and the surrounding area is known for walking, cycling and wildlife.
The week is built around the FitFarms weight loss and fitness programme, which the team describes as award-winning and which is delivered by the ITV fitness guru behind the brand. Expect guided fitness sessions, outdoor exercise, countryside walks and hill walks with the area's 360-degree views, alongside healthy meals and wellbeing support. This is deliberately not a shout-at-you bootcamp: the focus is on habits you can keep once you're back home, which is why they also offer an optional aftercare support programme after the retreat ends. A wide selection of massage therapies is available too, which most guests use at some point during the week.
A typical day starts with activity before breakfast and keeps you moving through the morning, with afternoons often spent outdoors — forest trails, riverside paths around Killin, or the walk to the Falls of Dochart in the heart of the village. Evenings are quieter, with talks, relaxation and time in the communal areas by the fire. Loch Tay is a short distance away and is one of Scotland's best-known scenic areas, so the landscape is doing a lot of the work here.
What separates this from a generic UK weight loss camp is the setting and the tone. You're in a private hotel environment surrounded by private grounds and peaceful countryside rather than a gym hall, and the training is guided rather than barked. The house's history and the fireplaces give it the feel of a countryside inn rather than a clinic, and the village of Killin is walkable, which matters on rest periods.
Getting there is straightforward: around 90 minutes from Glasgow by train, about 2.5 hours from Edinburgh, and trains from Glasgow connect directly to London and other UK cities. FitFarms collects guests from Crianlarich train station free of charge and takes them back at the end of the week. If you're coming from Aberdeen, Inverness or elsewhere in the UK, the team can advise on the best route.
The Scotland retreat's next scheduled date is July 2027. If that's too far off, the same programme runs at their residential retreats in England and Europe, with a £150 contribution towards travel costs when you book an alternative location.
