Costa Rica · 7 days · From EUR 1695
Sean Fagan started Muay Thai under JJ Russo at Stockade Muay Thai in Kingston, NY, at the end of a boxing career and never went back to it. He had 30+ fights, competed on Lion Fight and on national Thai TV, won two amateur championships (one with a broken arm), and took a title at Madison Square Garden. He retired to coach full-time. His YouTube channel, Muay Thai Guy, has reached millions of people looking for honest technical instruction, and these retreats are how he puts that same coaching into a room of real students for a full week.
The Costa Rica trip runs 7 nights at Jungle's Edge Resort in Nosara. Days are structured but not packed: roughly 90-minute Muay Thai sessions twice daily with Sean and a hand-picked team, daily morning yoga with a pro instructor, open BJJ, and a surf lesson or a full-body massage. Three meals a day are covered, plus a post-workout smoothie. Between sessions there are waterfall hikes, beach bonfires, sunset watch parties, and group excursions. The resort is eco-friendly and sits at the edge of the jungle, with that saltwater infinity pool.
The Thailand trip is the longer one at 11 nights, based at FitKoh in Ban Tai on Koh Samui. It includes 10 training days, two live stadium fight nights, combat strength sessions with kettlebells on the beach, ice baths, breathwork, yoga and mobility, a sunset boat trip, a waterfall hike, and Songkran celebrations on Chaweng Beach Road. The group size is 15-30.
The New Paltz weekend is for people who can't take a full week off. You fly into NYC, drive 90 minutes upstate, and train with Sean at his home gym. It includes two private Muay Thai lessons with him, one group session at Gambit Fighting, hikes at River to Ridge and Mohonk, and brunch, dinners and drinks at local spots, with all ground transport covered. Group size is 1-2.
The Morocco trip is a 7-day retreat at a boutique stone hotel on the Atlantic coast. Muay Thai with sea views in the morning, surf in the Atlantic swell, yoga at sunset, and oceanside partner drills and light sparring. Between sessions there are guided local excursions, souks, medinas and tagine dinners. It runs with 10-15 people. Dates are still TBD for 2027.
Across all trips, the structure is the same: sessions are real, technique is corrected, conditioning sharpens, but you're also expected to actually vacation. Skip a session if you need to. The FAQ is blunt about this — guests in their 50s and 60s regularly show up and have the most energy at dinner.
