Laurentians · 1 days
Chalets La Belle Vie manages a small collection of chalets around the Laurentians, roughly an hour and a half north of Montreal and close to Mont-Tremblant. Each one is a self-contained house with its own kitchen, living space and outdoor area. You book the chalet, not a bed in a shared dorm, and you decide what happens each day.
The properties differ in size and character. Chalet Bord du Lac sits by a lake near Mont-Tremblant and has a year-round spa and lake views. Thasan is a Canadian log cabin about 25 minutes from Mont-Tremblant with a 21-foot cathedral ceiling and an outdoor spa that runs all year. Grand Duc has four bedrooms, a playroom with foosball and a pool table, and suits families. Cherokee is a wood log cabin with six bedrooms. Chalets Frères de Bois is two connected log chalets that together take up to 24 guests.
What they share is the setting and the fittings: outdoor hot tubs, wood-burning fireplaces, large windows looking into the forest, and enough distance from neighbours that the quiet is real. The interiors are wood, natural textures and soft lighting rather than hotel furniture.
Because there is no programme, the week looks however you want it to. A typical day might be coffee on the terrace, a slow walk on one of the forest trails, lunch back at the chalet, an afternoon in the hot tub, and a fire in the evening. In summer you have the lakes and long daylight; in autumn the colours and hiking; in winter the snow and the hot tub under a clear sky; in spring the thaw and quieter trails.
If you want more than that, the team can point you to Nordic spas, saunas, massage therapists, yoga studios and guided forest walks in the area. Those are booked and paid separately, and they are optional.
