Home › Retreats › Self-Guided Yoga Retreat in Koh Tao: Unlimited Classes & Island Living
Thailand · 7 days · From USD 90
Blue Chitta sits on Koh Tao, a small island in the Gulf of Thailand known for diving and a relaxed pace. The retreat runs on a weekly schedule of yoga classes and workshops that repeat, so you can drop in and out. A typical day might start with a 90-minute vinyasa class at 7:30am, followed by breakfast at Prana Cafe (included: one meal and one drink per day). Midday workshops vary — could be handstand drills, breathwork, or a philosophy talk. Afternoons are free for the beach, snorkelling, or a nap. Evening activities include yin yoga, meditation, or kirtan. Once a week there's a community dinner and a high moon yoga session; new moon and full moon ceremonies are also on the schedule.
What makes this different from a structured yoga retreat is the flexibility. You're not locked into a set programme — you choose which sessions to attend. The accommodation is a wellness dorm with pod beds, which keeps costs down and creates a communal feel. If you prefer privacy, they can recommend nearby beach resorts a short walk away, and you can book the retreat without accommodation for a 10% discount. The ice bath workshop is a regular feature, as are meditations and kirtan. The whole place is designed so you can reset your nervous system, build healthier habits, and reconnect with yourself without a rigid timetable.
Groups are small and mixed, with a good number of solo travellers. The instructors are experienced yogis who live on the island; classes are taught in English. The retreat is suitable for all levels, from complete beginners to advanced practitioners. You can stay for as little as one day or as long as a month — pricing is daily, weekly, or monthly. Low season (usually May–September) gets a 10% discount. If you book with a friend, you each get 5% off. The focus is on simple living: clean food, daily movement, ocean air, and a supportive community.
