Silent Yoga & Meditation Retreat in Lower Austria

Silent Yoga & Meditation Retreat in Lower Austria

Austria · 3 days · From USD 200

The retreat runs as a full day of practice, starting early and ending in the evening. Mornings begin with posture work — the 18 asanas of Babaji's Kriya Hatha Yoga — followed by pranayama (Matrika and Nadi Shodhana) and then meditation. Afternoon and evening sessions return to concentration and meditation practice. The exact timetable is given on arrival, but the structure stays consistent across the days.

Noble Silence is the core rule: no talking at all, and contact with other participants kept to a minimum — no touches, looks, or gestures. The point is to reduce external input so the mind settles and the practice becomes more continuous. You're not chatting over meals or comparing notes between sessions; you're moving through the day with your own practice.

The course curriculum is fixed: 18 Asanas of Babaji's Kriya Hatha Yoga, Pranayama (Matrika, Nadi Shodhana), Ham Sa Dhyana (breath-awareness meditation), and Mantra Meditation. It's not a drop-in class situation — you're expected to commit to completing the seminar and to keeping silence for the duration.

Requirements for participation are listed plainly: sincere interest and openness to what is taught, determination to complete the seminar, determination to maintain complete silence, good physical health, and psycho-emotional stability. This isn't a retreat for someone looking for a gentle introduction with lots of support; it's a structured practice weekend with clear expectations.

The setting is Wieselburg in Lower Austria, at KriyaMandiram. It's a rural location, and the retreat is held at the ashram itself rather than a hotel or resort. The March 2026 dates run March 26–29, and there's a second set of dates October 22–25, 2026. Both are open for registration.

The retreat is guided by Chaitanya. If non-German speakers are present, the retreat is held in both English and German, so you don't need German to attend — but you should expect a bilingual room.
