This is a full expedition in the Mountains of the Moon. Over seven days you climb from Nyakalengija (1,615 m) through forest, bamboo, the Bigo Bog and Groundsel Gully to Elena Camp at 4,541 m. The descent takes a different route. You go over Scott-Elliot Pass to Kitandara Camp, cross Fresh Field Pass (about 4,282 m), and pass Bujongolo Rock Shelter on the way down to Guy Yeoman Camp and the forest of the Mubuku valley. You have time to acclimatise at Elena, and your guides give a summit briefing there.
