South Tyrol Alpine Fitness & Outdoor Retreat at a Five-Star Family Hotel

The fitness offering at Alpura is built around a light-filled gym and movement room equipped with Technogym machines, open from 7am until 11pm daily. The layout is generous enough for both heavy sessions and slower work like yoga, meditation and back fitness classes. What you do each day depends on when you visit — the programme rotates with the seasons and mixes indoor sessions with outdoor activities.

In summer, the focus shifts outside. From the hotel door you can join guided adventure hikes and mountain tours with the hiking guide Andreas, ranging from easy walks to demanding summit climbs, some including Alpine product tastings, others starting before dawn for sunrise. There are guided e-mountain bike tours for all ages and abilities, plus free rental of hiking backpacks, Nordic walking poles, hiking poles and premium mountain bikes. Haibike e-bikes and children's e-bikes are available for a fee, and cycle helmets, child seats and trailers are free.

Winter swaps the trails for snow. The hotel's electric shuttle runs all day and takes you to the valley station of the Ratschings-Jaufen ski resort in about three minutes, so you don't carry skis anywhere. There's a ski storage room with heated boot racks and lockers, a free ski ticket for children up to age eight accompanied by an adult, and free cross-country ski tickets for all local trails. Guided winter and snowshoe hikes with toboggan runs run through the season.

What separates this from a bootcamp-style retreat is the family infrastructure. Alongside adult programming there's a Family Adventure Guide running nature experiences and excursions for all ages, a baby care room with toys and a separate sleep room, and 45 hours of baby care. Water facilities include a chlorine-free baby pool at 36°C with a rainbow slide and an experience pool at 34°C with a whitewater channel. The organic children's sauna runs a daily infusion programme.

The hotel is a premium partner of the Sterzing Golf Club, and guests play free on the seven-hole course below Reifenstein Castle throughout their stay.
