Poland · 8 days
A typical day starts with breakfast from the catering delivery, then the first two-hour water block in the chosen discipline. Groups are assigned by the level and fitness participants state when they book, and instructors move people around on site if it makes sense so that everyone progresses. Lunch follows, then the second two-hour water session, then land-based activities in the late afternoon — skateboarding and surfskating, SUP or skimboarding, team sports on the multi-use pitch, functional training and stretching, or orienteering-style games. Evenings are on the covered terrace: board games, integration games, sometimes a film.
What separates this from a standard surf school is the range of hardware and the venue. There is a multi-use court with artificial turf, a ramp, an exercise area, balance trainers (trickboards, Spooner boards, slackline), and a dedicated drying area for wetsuits and clothes. Wetsuits can be rented for the duration of the camp; boards, sails, kites, buoyancy aids and on-water safety cover are provided for sessions. The Bay of Puck side is shallow and flat, which is why this stretch became a centre for Polish wind and kitesurfing, while the sea side hosts Polish surfing championships.
The accommodation is container-built modules, mostly 6-person, with large shelves and lockers for bags, a heater, lamps, a mirror and plenty of sockets. Sanitary facilities are prepared exclusively for the camp group and sit about ten metres away. There is a restaurant and food trucks on the campground, shops nearby, and Chałupy centre is a short walk for ice cream, pizza or a skate along the bay.
For the two weeks run with Marysia Krasowska, the programme adds author sessions: she talks about surfing trips to Hawaii, Portugal, the Canary Islands, Sri Lanka, Costa Rica and Bali, signs copies of her 'Fala' and 'Chasing Paris' books, runs a big surf quiz and a surf film night, and there is group guitar playing and singing. She stays for the whole turnus.
Instructors all hold first-aid certificates, every participant wears a buoyancy aid for water sessions, each instructor carries a first-aid kit, and the team watches participants' condition and avoids unnecessary risk. The younger Mini Surf Camp (7–12) and the day-camp version (6–12, Monday–Friday 9:15–17:00) run alongside, and friends booked onto different profiles (windsurf, kite or surf) can still share the same module.
