Home › Retreats › Surf & Fitness Week on Morocco's Atlantic Coast
Morocco · 8 days · From USD 2160
A typical day starts early, before the heat builds. You're on the rooftop or the beach for a strength and conditioning session with an ocean view — scalable, so it works whether you train regularly or haven't touched a kettlebell in months. Rooftop yoga runs most mornings too; it's open to everyone and skippable without explanation. Breakfast follows: bread still warm, jam, and mint tea poured from a height.
Then it's surf. Groups head out with pro instructors to the breaks around Taghazout, matched to ability. If you've never stood on a board, you will by the end of the week. If you've surfed for years, the Atlantic will still humble you a little. When the wind cooperates, there's a full day trip to Imsouane, about an hour up the coast, for long mellow waves that seem to run forever.
What separates this from a standard surf camp is everything built around the water. One day is spent in Paradise Valley — a canyon walk through palm trees and red rock that ends at swimming holes, with cliff jumps for the brave. Another includes souk and market time in Agadir, where you'll haggle for rugs you didn't plan to buy, plus visits to the fishing village. There's sand dune surfing and a sunset BBQ on the beach with music as the sun drops. Near the end of the week, a two-hour hammam session — the traditional Moroccan spa ritual — is included.
The lodge is in the heart of Taghazout, a short walk from the beach and the main strip of cafés and shops. It has a rooftop for yoga and sunrise, and common areas built for actually hanging out rather than just passing through. It's not five-star luxury — it's closer to the coolest friend's place in Morocco, and that's deliberate. The group is 20–25 people, most travelling solo, which means by day two you have a crew.
Getting there: fly into Agadir Al Massira Airport (AGA), about an hour south. Many routes connect through European hubs like Paris, London, or Lisbon. Transfers from Agadir are handled for you. Once you're there, the week runs: training, surf coaching, excursions, most meals, and the logistics you'd otherwise spend months figuring out. Everything is optional, always.
