Surf & Yoga Camp in Fuerteventura – 7 Nights with Daily Lessons

Canary Islands · 7 days · From EUR 375

The camp sits in a town on Fuerteventura within a few minutes' walk of the ocean, and the surf house and apartments are the base for the whole week. You get seven nights of accommodation, five days of surf lessons, daily beach transfers, use of surf equipment (board and wetsuit for the duration), and breakfast and dinner at the house. It is sold as a week-long package, from €375 per person per week, and it operates 365 days a year — so you can book it in January or July.

A typical surf day begins with breakfast at the house, then a transfer to whichever beach has the best conditions that morning. Fuerteventura has breaks for every level, from the forgiving sandbanks at Flag Beach and Playa del Moro to reef and point setups further north, and the instructors choose the spot based on wind, swell and the ability of the group. Lessons run roughly two to three hours, with the group split by level. You will be taught by instructors with formal surf qualifications — the organisation states its teachers hold FES, DWV, ISA, BSA or FCS certifications plus lifeguard training — so complete beginners are genuinely catered for rather than thrown in the deep end.

After the lesson you are transferred back to the house. Lunch is not included, but there are supermarkets and cheap restaurants within walking distance, and the kitchen in the accommodation is available if you would rather cook. Dinner is provided at the house most evenings. Evenings are low-key: people eat together, then walk into town, or sit on the terrace. There is no enforced itinerary at night.

What sets this apart from a lot of Canary Islands surf camps is the year-round schedule and the fact that the operator runs its own houses and instructors rather than reselling another school's lessons. The accommodation is 'surf house and apartments' — shared rooms with other guests, a common area, and proximity to a skatepark, which is genuinely unusual and a nice fallback on flat days. It is a five-minute walk to bars and restaurants, so you are not stuck in a remote resort.

Fuerteventura itself is a draw: it is the oldest and flattest of the Canary Islands, with long white and black sand beaches, constant trade winds, and a landscape that looks more like the Sahara than Europe. Water temperatures sit around 19–22°C year-round, so a wetsuit is comfortable in winter and a shortie or boardshorts work in summer. The camp is easy to reach — direct flights to Fuerteventura Airport from most European cities, then a transfer of around 30–40 minutes depending on the town.
