Home › Retreats › Surf & Yoga Retreat: Atlantic Waves, Cross-Training & Full-Board Camps in France, Portugal & Beyond
France · 7 days · From EUR 389
The camps run from one to several weeks across destinations that suit different budgets and seasons. France (Moliets, Seignosse/Hossegor) is popular for beach breaks and a relaxed camp atmosphere — the 24+ Moliets camp keeps the group adult-only and includes full board, three yoga classes and two cross-training sessions. The Seignosse surf house is a stylish property with a café, breakfast, five dinners and three yoga classes. Both run on the Atlantic coast where the beach breaks are consistent and beginner-friendly.
Portugal has several options. The Algarve surf lodge near Raposeira has a pool and garden and sits in the middle of nature, with breakfast, beach transfers and two yoga sessions included. The Algarve surf lodge in the Algarve region proper also has a pool and sea views with cross-training and yoga added. The Peniche/Baleal camp sits in Portugal's surf Mecca and includes breakfast, cross-training and yoga. The Caparica camps are right at the beach or near Lisbon and include breakfast plus yoga and, in one case, cross-training. Algarve from €319 and Peniche from €429 make Portugal one of the better-value destinations.
Fuerteventura in the Canaries runs all year with warm water and includes breakfast, five dinners, a trekking tour and three yoga classes. Morocco has three camps: a boutique surf hotel in Tamraght with gourmet meals and spa access, a sea-view camp in Aourir with 180° views and full board plus yoga, and a value option in Aourir with full board and yoga from €309. Sri Lanka's Kathaluwa camp is set directly on the beach in the first row and includes guiding or a surf course, food and five yoga sessions.
All camps include surf instruction or guiding, and the surf schools are staffed by ISA and ISLA-certified instructors. Groups are divided by ability so beginners get more attention and easier waves, while advanced surfers are taken to spots that suit their level. Rental boards can be swapped during the week. If you already surf independently, you can book board rental only. Non-surfing partners can join and just do yoga, chill on the beach, or take part in the other activities.
The instructors and camp leaders handle the logistics — picking the right spot for the day's conditions, arranging transport to the beach, and organising equipment. Airport transfers and shuttle buses can be arranged on request, including overnight buses from Germany to the French camps. The team can also help find flights if you're travelling from further afield. Across all camps the aim is that you show up, get handed a wetsuit and a board, and spend the week surfing as much as conditions allow.
