Thermal Spa & Wellness Escape in Bavaria at DAS MÜHLBACH

The centre of the stay is the Thermal Spa. It's roughly 5,000 sqm and holds six thermal pools, including a new LandTherme with a 30-metre infinity thermal lake pool at about 30°C and a thermal hot pool at about 38°C, plus a natural bathing lake with sun decks and a pine relaxation room. Up on the fourth floor of the Dorfchalets there's an Adults Only Sky Spa with a rooftop thermal water pool and panoramic saunas looking out over the Bavarian countryside. The LandSauna area (open 10:30–19:00) adds a pine infrared sauna, herbal steam bath, salt grotto and graduation tower. In the spa lounge you'll find a Grander water fountain, a tea station and fresh apples, and towels are freely available throughout.

Treatments range from classic massages and hay flower baths to lipomassage by Endermologie and facials using Reviderm or Decleor products. There's also a Health Center on site, Mühlbach Med, staffed with masseurs, physiotherapists and physiotherapists offering medical and therapeutic treatments — back health programmes, cryotherapy, arthritis treatment, thymus therapy and acupuncture. The hotel is explicit about the indications it caters to: back pain, heart and circulatory issues, locomotor system, metabolism and digestion, migraine, rheumatism, joints and arthritis, spine and discs, and stress or exhaustion.

Food depends on your board. Breakfast is a buffet from 7:30 to 10:30 with regional organic products and homemade jams. If you book full board — the gourmet pampering board — you also get early morning coffee and juices from 7am, a light vital lunch buffet and cake buffet from 12:30 to 15:30, and a five-course evening menu with appetiser, salad and dessert buffets from 18:30 to 20:30. Twice a week there are theme evenings, Bavarian or Mediterranean, sometimes with live music. The kitchen also does dietary cuisine, separation, a slimming diet of around 1,000 kcal, and gluten-free and lactose-free options. One recurring note in guest reviews is that vegetarians are not especially well catered for at dinner, and labelling could be clearer — worth knowing if that's you.

The property is family-run and has 56 rooms and 5 suites. After extensive modernisation there's a new lobby with hotel bar, a village chalet with additional room categories, and the expanded wellness areas. It sits in the original town centre of Bad Füssing, so the spa park, shops, cafés and restaurants are all walkable. Bicycle rental is available at the hotel for a fee, tennis courts are about a kilometre away in town, and there's underground parking at roughly €5 a day plus a local tourist tax of about €2.60–3.40 per person per day depending on season.
