Soi Ta-iad Fitness Street
Pirate Camp is a CrossFit affiliate on Soi Ta-iad, the road in Phuket where most of Asia's serious training happens. It is a purpose-built box with a proper coaching team, and the crew call their coaches captains — which tells you most of what you need to know about the place.
**Why train here**
The coaching is the reason. Classes are led rather than supervised: someone watches your movement, corrects it, and scales the session to what you can actually do today. That matters more on holiday than at home, because you are training in heat you are not used to, often twice a day, and the cost of getting it wrong is a week of your trip.
The programming is properly varied — a Hero WOD on Thursday, a partner chipper on Saturday, weightlifting and gymnastics skills midweek, and open gym twice a day for anything you want to work on yourself. Classes carry names like Shipwreck, Broadside and Keelhaul, which sounds gimmicky until you realise it means people know exactly what they are turning up to.
**The community**
This is the part people write home about. Everyone in the room is a visitor with the same idea, and the crew is deliberate about making that work — you will train alongside people from a dozen countries and end up eating with them afterwards. For anyone travelling alone, that is worth as much as the training.
**Who it suits**
Anyone comfortable in a group class, from six months in to a competitor keeping sharp on holiday. Complete beginners do fine here; the scaling is real, not a formality.
**How it works with us**
You choose your dates and where you stay. We put training and accommodation together into one booking so you land with both already arranged, rather than working it out from a hotel lobby on your first morning. Start any day of the week, stay as long as you like.
