Barcelona · 6 days · From USD 650
The retreat is housed in a large, beautiful modernist building in the heart of Barcelona, one of the cataloged examples of the modernistic movement associated with Gaudí, built in 1890. The building retains its original features—colorful flooring, high decorated ceilings, long airy corridors, ironwork on the back facade—and even has the city's first elevator, also from 1890, a magnificent piece of woodwork. All rooms are spacious and designed by the Barcelona studio PPT Interiors, creating a welcoming, beautiful, and comfortable space to stay and practice. The center can accommodate up to 12 guests at a time, so it never feels crowded or impersonal.
Each day follows a simple rhythm: morning yoga, brunch, free time, evening yoga. The morning class runs 90 minutes exclusively for retreat guests, while the evening rooftop session is open to the local community during warmer months, giving you a real chance to connect with Barcelonans. Classes are vinyasa-based, but teachers rotate weekly, so you might practice with someone focused on Ashtanga one day and a Hatha Vinyasa teacher the next. All classes are taught in English. The rooftop terrace, where evening classes happen from end of March onward, is a unique space with views over the city and the sunset—it's genuinely a highlight of the week.
Brunch is a key part of the day, served in the gallery after the morning class, with a big communal table and a sitting area. It's vegetarian, and guests mention that vegan and gluten-free needs are catered to well. After brunch, the day is yours. You can explore the Gothic Quarter, hit the beach, or book optional activities like massages, city tours, day trips, paddle boarding, cycling, or alternative therapies. The retreat's location is one of its biggest strengths—it's urban, so you get all the culture and energy of Barcelona, but the beach and nature are close enough to escape to when you want quiet.
One thing that sets this retreat apart is its flexibility. There are no fixed starting or ending dates—you choose your own arrival and departure, staying anywhere from a few days to several weeks. This makes it a great option for people who want a short reset as part of a bigger trip, or for digital nomads who want a yoga-focused base in Barcelona. The center also runs longer yoga teacher trainings, so the environment attracts a mix of people, some staying for a weekend and others for a month. It's a place that feels lived-in and real, not a glossy resort.
The host, Ana, founded the center after more than 12 years in the corporate world in London and Barcelona. The team includes teachers like Mar, an Ashtanga-trained instructor with over eight years of teaching experience, and Judith, a traveling yoga teacher with 10+ years in teacher training. They're all experienced, and the reviews single out the quality of teaching, with a 4.87 rating for teachers specifically. Whether you're a complete beginner or an advanced practitioner, the classes are open to all levels, with adjustments and variations offered so you can challenge yourself or take it easy depending on what your body needs.
