Wellness and Weight Loss Programme at a Restored 17th-Century Monastery in Umbria

The hotel occupies a restored 17th-century monastery. Original stone walls and vaulted ceilings sit alongside modern rooms and communal spaces decorated with local art. There is a fireplace in the lounge, a restaurant called Nicolao, other dining rooms, a bar called La Cisterna, and a wine shop.

The wellness side runs on the Marc Mességué method, an integrative system using phytotherapy, diet, massage and hydrotherapy. In practice that means customised herbal remedies, lymph drainage, mud treatments and other spa services. The hotel says medical supervision runs alongside the programmes.

Three set programmes are offered. Remise en Forme uses detoxifying spa therapies, Mediterranean food and fitness suitable for any age or condition. Beauty and Health combines mud treatments, massages, hydrotherapy and herbal remedies, aimed at energy, cellulite and skin. Weight Loss cleanses the body while setting up eating and exercise habits for keeping weight off. Reconnecting Wellness is the open-ended option — guests pick and choose activities.

Exercise options include yoga, Pilates and personal training, plus a fitness area. The spa also has a water park, Parco Acque, and a roof garden, Oasi del Parco. The grounds have gardens, ancient olive groves and paths for walking.

Gubbio is a short drive away, and the hotel also lists countryside holidays and breaks through Villa Benveduti, I Casali di Villa Benveduti farmhouses, Poggiovalle and Tenuta Italiana. The wider region is Umbria, referred to on the site as the Green Heart of Italy.
