Home › Retreats › Wellness Escape and Detox Retreat in Nicaragua
Nicaragua · 5 days · From USD 431
The retreat mixes daily yoga with cleansing practices and workshops rooted in the natural world. Mornings begin in silence, with breathwork and meditation before a vinyasa class. Evenings move into restorative or yin yoga, leaving the middle of the day for workshops or just being outside. Guests have described the pace as sustainable and the teaching as far exceeding expectations, even in a single week.
A big part of this retreat is detox. The food plan cuts out coffee, alcohol, sugar, and processed food. Instead you get cold-pressed juices, herbal teas, and cleansing tonics, with plant-based meals built around local produce. There is also time to learn the basics of herbalism, working with the plants growing on the property to support digestion and energy.
Anthony has been teaching since 1998 and holds a 500E-RYT certification as well as AcroYoga certification. He also practices Thai yoga massage and brings in shamanic traditions that draw on his Nicaraguan roots. The element-based workshops each day connect the practices to earth, water, fire, and air, building a framework for the week.
Because the group is never bigger than five or so, much of the teaching is effectively personal. Guests have called it a personalized experience and an unexpected retreat. If you are after a big resort with lots of other people, this is not that. If you want a week where the teacher actually knows your name and your body, it could be exactly right.
