Home › Retreats › Wellness Escape in Brussels: Yoga, Sound Therapy & Spa
Brussels · 3 days · From USD 480
EYA Retreats runs this weekend from a ground-floor master apartment in Schaerbeek, a residential part of Brussels that's an easy tram ride from the historic centre. The apartment is on a quiet street with a terrace that looks out over private gardens—you hear birds more than traffic. Inside, it's been set up along feng shui principles, with a dedicated space for yin yoga, mats, straps, blocks and bolsters all ready for you.
The structure of the three days is loose but intentional. You arrive on Friday afternoon, settle in, and meet the other guests over light refreshments. That evening there's a 90-minute yin yoga class that ends with a sound bath using crystal bowls. On Saturday, the morning starts with a guided lying-down meditation based on Shakti Gawain's creative visualisation, followed by a neti pot nasal rinse and then a Yoga Pilates class. You get a few hours to yourself after lunch—you can rest, walk to a museum, or take the optional spa trip to a nearby castle where massages, a hammam and a sauna are on offer. Another deep session of yin yoga and sound therapy closes the day, this time with Tibetan bowls, tuning forks, and a herbal acupressure ball.
Sunday is gentler; a similar morning, a final brunch at noon, then time to wander the neighbourhood before checking out at 4pm. You won't be pushed to perform—sessions are adapted to how you arrive, whether that's exhausted, stiff, or just curious. The group is small enough that the whole thing feels more like a house party for well-being than a formal retreat.
Food is a big part of it. Both brunch and dinner are vegetarian, and everything is prepared without gluten or lactose—think hearty soups, warm dishes with fresh produce, and healthy desserts, made by Fatima, whose cooking has earned its own praise in reviews. There's herbal tea, detox drinks and coffee on hand, and fruit and nuts to nibble on through the day.
Lila, the founder and teacher, has been organising retreats for five years in France, Brussels and Algeria. She's a yoga teacher trained in France, and also works as an actress. Her background tends to draw people who value attention and warmth over strict technique—several guests mention leaving her sessions feeling cared for as much as stretched. Guests have described the experience as 'transformative', but in the grounded sense of a weekend that actually changes your state: people mention sleeping better, feeling lighter, and learning practical ways to manage stress after they get home.
